For a long rotors, you usually need to perform dynamic balancing. Note that unbalance is only one cause of vibration, there could be many other causes (e.g. mechanical looseness, bend shaft, etc).

Dynamic balance requires the rotor to be spun and trial weights added to each end. This can be done in-situ
